Amber L. Maida...Junior Company Director
Amber Maida is a proud member of the Stratford Academy of Dance Faculty. She currently teaches the Senior Dance Company Modern, Jazz, and Lyrical dance classes as well as Junior and Senior Modeling class, Acro-dance as well as workshops and 6 week courses in art, focusing on "Paint to the Music" techniques. This is Miss Amber's 8th year teaching at Stratford Academy of dance!
Amber started her professional career in dance at a young age. She toured with the Hoctor's Dance Caravan at the age of 14 across America as a selected dancer for the "Caravan Kid" touring program. She has worked with some of the most well known and respected choreographers/teachers/performers in the world of dance! A year later, Amber was invited to be one of the Choreographers and lead dancers for the musical "Hair" Featured at the Pheifer Theater in Buffalo, NY by Empyrean Productions. She signed by the Wright Modeling Agency during her teenage years and began her career in Modeling at that time. In 1999, she won the title of "Miss Henderson, NC" an affiliate of the Miss America Pageant! Amber now trains award-winning models at Stratford Academy of Dance that often become title winners in Pageants and have broke into the professional world of modeling and acting as a result of her training!
Amber is an award winning Choreographer and has studied dance at Louisburg College, NC on scholarship for the dance program, studied Massage Therapy and received her NYS License at the New York Institute of Massage in Williamsville, NY which has heightened her awareness of movement and safety of dance through muscle conditioning and protection. As a result, Miss Amber's classes instill a love of dance, movement exploration and education!
Amber is also a fine artist and exhibits her contemporary paintings internationally and extensively in Connecticut and New York! She is inspired by the dancer's at Stratford Academy of Dance and continues to fuse her love of the visual and performing arts in both her paintings and choreography. This gives her dance creations a unique perspective which results in her signature style of artistic, cutting edge dance choreography! Amber's dancers and the choreography they perform are true works of art!
