Rita Holloway, ABC Hop, Stressercise Instructor and “Resident” Psychologist

Rita Brown-Holloway is a state certified teacher and school psychologist and therapist, who has worked extensively with youth and families for more than a decade.  In 2007, she took on the position of School Psychologist for the Bridgeport Board of Education. She has trained in Ballet, Jazz, African, and Hip Hop at an early age.  Rita attended the Harlem School of the Arts and was principal in the Williams College Dance Company, in Williamstown, Mass.  Her innovative learning arts program, Rap 2 Read!, debuted  to rave reviews, in the Connecticut Post and Education Notebook in 2006 and 2007.  Her latest innovation, ABC Hop!, teaches kids to rap, sing, dance and hop into learning adventures and is designed to help them master both upper and lower case letters, sound, sight words, and reading skills. This is Rita’s third year on the faculty at Stratford Academy of Dance and we are thrilled to have her exciting innovations as part of our “Dance equals Education” philosophy.
