Assistant Teacher Program:

Our Student Teacher program is designed for students in grades 8-12. These dancers have the opportunity to assist professional teachers in the classroom while learning how to work with children and intermediate level teaching techniques. Many of our students pursue Dance, Theatre, or Vocal majors and minors in college. This program not only prepares them for their future endeavors, but gives them a valuable experience that reinforces their own technique. We are proud of the dancers and sincerely appreciate their time and talents.
Teaching Assistants are assigned to a specific instructor and class based on their own areas of training and excellence. Our goal is to ensure each student reach their maximum potential in dance education and this program allows a greater teacher to student ratio in each classroom.
Minimum amount of dance experience is 6 years overall and a minimum of 4 years training in our Dance Company, which provides dance education on a more advanced, accelerated level. The Student Teacher program is by invitation only, and have had experience in our Student Assistant Program.

Student Assistant Program:

Available to dancers ages 9 and up. Students are encouraged to volunteer as a student assistant to help out with younger dancers, or those less experienced. A great opportunity for dancers as they learn basic teaching methods and reinforce their own skills by helping out in classes. They help teachers to reinforce classroom etiquette and rules and assist when children are in extra need of attention.

Class Mom Program:

Each class needs one parent volunteer to assist the instructor throughout the season and at our various performances (ie. Backstage at holiday performance, recitals, or for company- dance competitions, to organize and stay with their class.) Class mom’s are helpful in ensuring that other parents are informed of any special instructions or events pertaining to the specific class that they attend. Each parent volunteer is assigned to a specific teacher and class, usually involving their own child’s class

Paint to the Music/Art Fusion Workshop

A truly artistic experience! You don’t have to be a painter, you just need the desire to be creative. Paint to the music involves the study of music sounds, rhythms and accents. The process involves moving to the music in an improvised manner developing shapes, forms, and emotions that you hear inside the music. You translate the emotion and sounds of music with paint color, exploring the meaning of color, brush strokes, , alternative painting tools, and development of your own “signature style”

These special workshops are presented several times a year and taught by local area artist and Jr. Company Director, (Miss) Amber Maida. Check our website periodically for upcoming events.

Please visit artist/instructor Amber Maida's website at: www.ambermaida.com
